It was a number of attacks and defenses executed by each player of the team against their opponent which made the two-day volleyball tournament more riveting which fascinated the crowd.

College of Arts and Sciences Women's Division fought for their victory and won the gold medal against Team Medellin with a score of 25-14 in the third set. Medellin has served a great attack toward the opposing team resulting them to win in the second set, yet the College of Arts and Sciences aced more their strategies and defenses to set forward. The team garnered 25 over 14 points against the Medellin team in the final set announcing them as the overall champion.

Automatically, Medellin was the 2nd placer with 2 wins against CTE and CN, 2 loses against College of Arts and Sciences. CN and CTE teams were eliminated with 0 wins and 2 loses. There was no set of players from team Balamban. Hence, College of Arts and Sciences Women's Category still got to defend their home as the champion of the Women's Volleyball team with no number of loses.

In Men's Category after years of holding the title as the undefeated team, College of Teacher Education broke the title of the College of Arts and Sciences with 25-16 points in third set. First set was won by the College of Teacher Education 25-23, and then was ripped off by the CAS team in the second set leading with 6 points which made them to reach up to a third set. CAS team was defeated during their first game against CTE but won against CN, Medellin, and Balamban. The game was done through a double elimination round wherein each bracket has the chance to compete again with the other teams unless having lost two matches.

Team Balamban played against Medellin, CN, CTE, and CAS with 2 wins against Medellin and Nursing. Medellin was eliminated by losing their game against Balamban and CAS as well as the College of Nursing against Balamban and CAS. Team CAS won against CN and Balamban and was defeated by the CTE team twice. The overall winners were Team Balamban as the 3rd placer, Team CAS as the 2nd, and Team CTE as the 1st placer or the winning team with no number of loses. College of Teacher Education supporters proudly waved their banner as their team won the championship game between the College of Arts and Sciences Department. Mr. Yvan Villarias, jersey no. 01, wowed the audience as he showed off his puissant spikes making the screams more alive.

At the last score of the game, almost all of them yelped with joy for pursuing the gold medal despite the pressure and the sweaty weather. Win or lose, each team did a great job in developing the essence of camaraderie and that what made them the real champions.

Congratulations, everyone!

AN INTERVIEW WITH MEDELLIN AND BALAMBAN

With the 4-day long Intramurals 2017, athletes, some teachers and staff from CNU Balamban and Medellin packed their bags and stayed under the roof of CNU Main campus. The university allotted to them the second and third floor of the ASAB Building as their sleeping quarters.

"Mas accommodating nasiyakay di parehas sauna namaglisud mi sa water," Medellin SSG President ZheilResuera answered when asked about their week-long stay. She said that the athletes had to wake up at 3a.m. just to take a bath or wait until noon just to shower before. She even narrated having to sleep on plywoods before and was grateful that sleeping mats are now provided. Apparently, things have changed for the better.

Aires Cabalida, SSG Secretary of CNU Balamban shares the same delight.

"Nice siya. Wala mi biyaesaamung dean ug coaches," she said.

She also commended the efforts of the canteen staff for serving the food on time. She had no qualms about the past. The Main campus has always treated them well.

Resuera, however, shares her sentiments on how the Main students used to receive them.

"Naka-trigger sa conflict between CNU Medellin and Main kayang word nga 'taga-bukid'." She admitted that they had grudges about that.

"I think saintramsjudnakaydidtora man nasa word na 'taga-bukid'. Mura ugnahugna 'Hala, naanasadangmgataga-bukid ay.'" She emphasized.

But everything is fine now according to her. "Okay najudsiyakarun, accommodating naangtanan," she added, smiling.

When asked whether they are satisfied with the performance shown by their athletes "Of course, yes they exerted their efforts jud to the max jud. As in.Angkutobsailangmakaya."Cabalida said.

Resuera, on the other hand said that this is their best Intramurals so far. The Medellin team already garnered gold, silver and bronze medals. "So far, samgaduwa okay rajudsiya at least ma third or ma second dilijudingonngawalajudka place ba. Mas sakitnganaakasika-fifth niyakungkibawkanadapat mas ni thrive pa ka."

Resuera also share to us thelack of their resources, hampering their team to strive for gold. The Medellin placed third last year. She expressed their team's desire to achieve for more but their financial insufficiency held them back.

"Amo athletes karonwana provide-an ugpagkaon. Sabot mi daanbakayamora gung payment 100 niyapilaragud mi. 500 rakapin, pinakataaskay 888 niya tag 100 langniyaigora man gudnasaamoangmga expenses kanangparasa uniform. Na-satisfy gyudkokaybisanpa'gwa mi ka-provide ug food, naninguhalanggihapon. Mao jud nay grabenga payback samga athletes saamoakaynaninguha man pud mi ngamaka-uniform sila."Resuera said, recalling their struggles before making it here.
